Designers Circus Annual Mother's Day Sale begins at 7am on Thursday April 26th |
Allston, Ma.- April 6, 2007 The Designers Circus today announced the beginning of its annual Mothers Day Experience. The biggest sales event of their year, the Designers Circus' upcoming "Mother's Day Sale" is the last act before "The Circus" closes down for the summer months. One of the best kept, but widely-shared secrets in Boston, the Designers Circus brings together 6 times a year the collections of more than 50 designers who design and produce fashions for the women's boutique industry. The fashions run from sizes 2 to 22, are sold at prices 30% to 90% below retail and run the gamut from special occasion dressing, to office attire to workout wear to play clothes. Local women, who tell other women who tell other women, form the backbone of a large and loyal customer base. With such wide choice and bargain prices, it's no wonder women keep coming back for more with friends, sisters and daughters in tow. New designers join "The Circus" with each show, so there are always new and "it" fashions from which to choose, along with a core of returning favorites. The sale is located at 20 Franklin Street, Allston, MA 02134 (617-254-3505) across from The Sports Depot on Cambridge Street. Dates and times are: April 26th from 7am to 7pm, April 27th from 10am to 7pm, April 28th from 10am to 5pm, May 1st to 4th from Noon to 8pm, May 5th from 10am to 5pm, May 8th to 11th from Noon to 8pm and May 12th from 10am to 5pm. Free parking is available. Go to for more information. Fashion can be fun and frothy. But women who enjoy fashion can also make a difference. With each sale, The Designers Circus owner, Kathleen O'Neill, sponsors a benefit. In light of recent events at Virginia Tech, the benefit proceeds from this sale are of even higher importance than usual. O'Neill is sponsoring the sale of jewelry made by a group of local women who have formed an association called "Artisans for Peace". All proceeds from the sale of their designs go to support youth enrollment and participation in programs in music, dance and the arts. The aim is to support young people by providing them with positive outlets to channel their energy and emotions and to build self-esteem and confidence. There are many great styles at modest prices and it's a truly worthwhile cause. O'Neill is sponsoring a second benefit for Rosie's Place. Every summer, residents and staff of Rosie's Place are hosted by a benefactor to go swimming. Many of the women need bathing suits in order to participate. For every bathing suit in good condition that is donated at the sale, the customer will receive 10% off a single purchase. In addition to great clothes, a fun atmosphere, and two ways to help others, the sale includes accessories such as jewelry, hats, scarves, purses and backpacks. Also showcased is art produced by 6 artists who work out of studios at 119 Braintree Street in Allston. Come join "The Circus"! |
